The social connection that I use in daily life is Facebook, Instagram, Line

I don't really post things on my Facebook page now, but I check on Facebook almost everyday.

I followed some Fanpages on facebook, and I read the articles about Fashion, Movies, and also

English learning. I followed Reuter, BBC news, i feel that I'm learning something when I'm browsing

my Phone. It wipes away my sense of guilty.

On Instagram, I follow accounts teaching people how to cook, how to makeup, and english daily

word and korean word.

Nowadays I find Instagram more interesting than Facebook because the latter contains too many AD

However, Facebook company has bought instagram, so I'm hoping that Instagram won't be the same

like Facebook.

12/5 mobile learning experience

MOBILE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

I think mobile language learning devices are quite useful.  Online dictionary is the most typical one. Whenever I'm reading articles or something or BBC news, i get stuck when i see new word. There is a strong intention to know what that word means. I know it's a bad habit of reading, but i just couldn't help it. I like Cambridge dictionary ,and dictionary.com
They not only show the definitions of the word and also provide related words, so that I can learn more than i wanted to.

In learning Korean and Deutsch, I also find dictionaries the best device. They give example sentences to let me know how to use the words, and in this way i can also figure out some grammar even though I haven't used it.

I go to gym several times a week, and when I'm on my way walking to the gym, I listen to the lesson online of Korean. It was like a radio, and i feel like I took a class on my way. It's really efficient.

While I was preparing for the TOEIC test, i downloaded an app to help me memorize the vocabularies. The free version only provided like 5 words a day, but i think it's enough.

It is set up by NTHU professor? I think kkkk
I tried the ACADEMIC one, and I think it will let us know some correct grammar to use, and give us some inspiration. However, I thought it will pop out meaning for words
I am pretty confused about why is there sometimes popping out something , but sometimes don't.

I'll try use it when writing academic papers, but not in compositions.

Korean Culture week

There was a really interesting event in our school on 11/23 last week.

It was held by the OIA of our university. The participants were the Korean exchange students and they prepared their tradition food for us to try.

There was a Korean boy singing Korean songs on stage, although I couldn't understand what he was singing, I'm still fascinated by the  atmosphere

I am really glad that I encountered a new friend in the American Literature class, she is a korean student from Soongsil University ( Seoul) Her name is Yoon Chae Min and what's really amazing is that her English name is also Kelly! Therefore, there are two Kellys in our American literature class.
Since I'm very interested in Korea, we became close to each other. She wanted to travel more around Taipei, and discover more delicious food here, and I also enjoy introducing the Taipei that i know to others. As we are wandering in the street, I am also discovering the Taipei that i didnt know so much before.

Back to the Korean Week kkk

The reason that I'm noticed about this event is because ChaeMin told me, and she was the one who is in charge of cooking. As a good friend, no matter the food is tasty or not, i think i should show up to cheer her up.

This is ChaeMin and Jisoo, they are both from Soongsil University. 

After the performance, the rice cake and rice balls are ready =) 

I'm glad that I am the first one to get the food ✌

   I had a lot of fun in this event. I hope that there will be more events like this, different culture~ different week.

K-pop video director Cha Eun-taek charged in South Korea corruption scandal

Summary:
  The president of South Korea Park Geun Hye is nowadays surrounded by the scandals from different fields.

   K-pop video director Cha Eun-Taek will stand trail for allegedly using his close relationship with the president to win lucrative contracts and extract a large amount of money from top firms. Prosecutors say Ms Park herself orderded her former economic adviser to help Mr Cha pressure companies and officials so he would win contracts

The former scandal is about her close friend Choi Soon Sil. It was said that Choi Soon Sil has used her relationship with Ms. Park in order to gain illegal income for her company. What's even worse is that she has meddled with a lot of states affair including the 2018 Winter Olympic. Ms. Park has risen the rage of the Korean people. Huge rallies has been held around Korean, demanding the resignation of the president Park Geun Hye.

   
Comment: 

   From my point of view as a taiwanese, i feel it ridiculous to have people not working in the government meddling with the states affair. However, Korea lies on big companies is a undeniable truth. The companies are so big that they can't shut down. And this gives the companies a big chance to manipulate the states affair, what's more, the CEO was the friend of the president.
   The condition of the media in Korea is highly controlled by the government, therefore, the scandals are easily covered by the media.
   Korea's government has for years used K-pop artist to promote the tourism of the nation. The scandal of Cha Eun Taek must have been a big bomb in the entertainment industry, and i think more big entertaiment companies are involved in this.

Exchange student - Step one ( Get the approval from school)

     It's always my dream to study abroad, and I am  really glad that our university provide us the chance to apply for the Exchange Student Program.

     Korea  happened to be the place that I wish to go the most. Although I am also majoring in German, however, I find Germany too far away from Taiwan. I think I don't have the courage to leave my parents for such a long time.  

     SooChow University has various famous university of Korea. Since I am really fond of learning Korean, i decided to apply all 3 selections of exchange University to Universities in Korea.

1. Busan University

2. Sogang University

3. Hanyang University

I chose Busan as my first option because I really enjoy the atmosphere in Busan 

and I hope to meet Hun in Busan. Learning Korean is my first purpose, meeting him is my second main purpose. kkkk

I know I will be nominated because I think few people wants to go to Busan, since most people prefer Universities in Seoul. I'm not an adrenaline seeker, i hate to take risk. Therefore, I'm actually pretty sure that I'll pass the application. 

After a month, the result came out. I was actually pretty nervous during the examination time. However, I am pretty sure that my GPA, and my autobiography is good enough to be nominated kkk so I told myself just to wait for it. 

on 11/3! It came out~ Finally 

And now, I am being nominated by our university to apply for the exchange student of Pusan National University!! 

However, it is just the first step of the exchange student, everything is a X before i got the admission of Pusan National University.

Hello, I'm Kelly from Taiwan!
I am currently an junior English major student in SooChow University.
I am really interested in language learning, therefore I am also double majoring in German.
I enjoy watching Korean drama, and the Korean culture, so I started to learn Korean last winter.
It is my dream to travel around the world, and I know it's a dream of many people but hard to achieve. However, i wish to acquire a lot of different languages so that it will be a really useful tool of me to pursue my dream.

Being an interpreter is one of my goal as a student in the English department, i wish to be come a English-Chines-Korean Interpreter in the future. It takes a lot of effort to make this come true, and I will strive for it. Even if I failed, I know I will still learn much from it.

I enjoy travelling, therefore the other dream of mine is to become a tour guide. In this way, I can travel to different places and know people coming from different places.

Learning language is definitely a Must-do for me to achieve these dream. And the other reason that wish to learn language is to introduce Taiwan to the world. So...I will work hard on it!

11/7 Comments on the learning websites

When i was in senior high school, our English teacher subscribed Class-studio magazine for us to read, and I know that there are website which provides us more information from the magazine.

I haven't used the website for LiveABC before, but today i browsed the website for a while, i think I'm still not that interested in it, because most of them needs money, and i believe that there are still several ways to learn english for free.

And then i tried FUNDAY  , which i found pretty interesting and useful.
There are some articles depending on various kinds of categories. For instance: Travelling, Global, Economy, science, etc.

I found it useful because there are Chinese translation along with the English articles too. Therefore, if the article is too hard to understand, i can click on the Chinese-English version.

In this way, i can improve my ability of translation, and check if my way of translating is appropriate for formal articles like these.


What's more, after reading , you can also try some quizzes. For example:　

I like this website a lot, because it is not that difficult as the BBC NEWS or CNN NEWS
however i can still learn SOMETHING about the globe in this website.
If I have a tutor student, i think i'll print out some articles for them, because it's practical and meaningful

10/24 CLASS Comment on Grammar monster

I have seen advertisement of Grammarly on youtube before, but i have never used it before.

Today, I browsed it for a while, i think it would be a nice tool to correct my essays in the future. However it is not all for free.

I tried another website called  Grammar monster , i tried the easily confused word test
I found it pretty interesting, because those are the words which i am actually very confused of.
For instance : Principal and principle. I have been confused for 19 years of my life, now still. After the test, still. I hope i can remember the difference after doing more of the tests.
What's more, i also checked on some easily confused Plurals, and i didnt really know some of them, so i find this website pretty useful.

Feedback on Just the Words and Grammar girl

When i browsed the Just the Word website

 i found it a little bit lag. I dont know if there was too much people using it so that the website was speed down. However when i finally typed something, the result tells me about if the word is a Noun or verb or adj. I don't know why it didn't show me the definitions, this really upsets me =(
I think i like the online dictionary : Dictionary.com   better, because it also provides definitions and thesaurus, and it is simple.

The grammar girl is more like a website that gives you some explanation on the using of words that are easy to get confused of . For example: is it Anyway or Anyways.( Anyway is the correct one kk)
In my opinion, this website is not bad, and more interesting that just the word.com. Because i really don't know how does that website work.

My experience in using CALL

Internet is nowadays a really useful  tool to learn things.
Since I am an English major student, i enjoy language.
 I learnt Korean by myself on the internet. There is a website that has courses teaching Korean from basic grammar to useful conversations. On the website, they have the PDF document to show you the text, and also audio resource playing the audio version at the same time. I think it is really useful for my Korean learning. I can read the text and listening to the pronunciation at the same time.

What's more, I found Youtube a very convenient resource of learning language. It is because the presented video can include audio and reading text. In the video, they can also show the subtitle to us.  In this way, more than one language may presented.

Actually i dont know much about CALL, hope that i can learn much from this class
